Please join Ophiuroidea in St Michaels for their
1st Annual Eastern Shore Sea Glass Festival
November 5-6th, 2011.
Ophiuroidea has planned it's Sea Glass Festival to coincide with the
Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's Oysterfest, so be sure to stop by while you're in town!
Ophiuroidea will also have wine tastings, featuring Sea Glass Wine Company,
during the two day festival hosted by Tilghman Island Country Store.
The wine will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle during the festival.

Why have the festival in November you ask?
Sea Glass collecting is best in the fall and winter months,
when the tides and weather bring the frosted treasures to the shorelines of the Chesapeake Bay in abundance. Ophiuroidea will host several sea glass jewelry makers, sea glass artists and more throughout the weekend!

Also Featuring Guest Speaker and Artisan: - Ellie Mercier of Annapolis Sea Glass Studio
Author/artist Ellie Mercier, an avid beachcomber, studied geography at George Washington University, and later earned a Master of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University (1996). Mercier has published several articles on sea glass, as well as general beach combing, and teaches academic writing at the Community College of Baltimore County. The artist/author is also a board member for the North American Sea Glass Association.
Ellie will be having a discussion/lecture both days :
"From Shipwrecks, to Bottlenecks: Searching for Sea Glass Treasures on the Coasts of North America"
