SUMMARY:Simpatico Native Grape Lunch Program Session 2 (12 Noon Session)
DESCRIPTION:About the Event\n\n\n\n\nLove Italian wine? Join us for this immersion into the world of Italian wine as we explore Italian Native Grapes together. over a special wine & food pairing lunch prepared by Chef Dawn. Our wine partner for this session is Doria Wines. Doria only imports wines from very small production "microwineries" and the wines you will be tasting have very limited production and availability in the USA. This will be an interactive educational and fun seated experience in our Trattoria Simpatico and will continue monthly! You can sign up for this session or the series.\n\n \n\nSo if you are interested in learning more about Italian native grapes\, the wine regions as well as food pairings and more\, this is the perfect Wine Educational Program for you. You will receive:\n\n\n	\n	15% discount on wines tasted during the wine & food pairing lunch\n	\n	\n	A Simpatico Wine Glass (Stemless)\n	\n	\n	Includes Food Pairing recipes\n	\n	\n	Special discounts for the life of the program for the wines while the inventory is available\n	\n	\n	40% discount on "Italian Wine" book\, a wonderful region by region easy to understand book on the grapes gown in all 20 regions and so much more information\, a must have reference book!\n\n \n	\n\n\nSo for our second session of our Native Grape Program\, we will be tasting the following:\n\nPODERE DELLA TORRE TREBBIANO\n\nItalian Region: Abruzzo\n\nGrape Variety: 100% Trebbiano\n\nYearly Production: 2\,000 bottles\n\nThere are many varieties of Trebbiano and this grape is often used in white blends. We love the 100% version and are anxious to share with you this Abruzzo wine. Fresh & elegant with a savory and persistent finish. It pairs perfectly with appetizers\, seafood\, light pasta and delicate white meat dishes.\n\n \n\nCORRADO MEINARDI DOLCETTO D'ALBA\n\nItalian Region: Piemonte\n\nGrape Variety: 100% Dolcetto\n\nYearly Production: 4\,200 bottles\n\nI was never a big fan of Dolcetto\, all the Dolcettos I had tasted were too tannic for me and we did offer a Dolcetto int he shop but it was not my favorite. It took a while for Doria to convince me to try the Corrado Dolcetto\, and they had experienced great feedback on the wine. We tried it and loved it\, yes it is dry\, slightly tannic with a good body\, smooth and easy drinking - a great pizza wine\, and also pairs well with lasagna\, meatballs\, roasted vegetables\, black bean soup.\n\n \n\nOSVALDO SODDU BRUNCU BOELI CANNONAU DI SARDEGNA\n\nItalian Region: Sardegna\n\nGrape Variety: 100% Cannonau\n\nYearly Production: 3\,500 bottles\n\nAs many of you know\, we are big Blue Zone fans in Simpatico and have many Sardinian wines to offer\, both red and white\, from many years of Zoom and live dinners with our vineyard partners. When Doria brought this Cannonau to us and explained the special features of it\, we had to try it and it has been on our shelf ever since. Osvaldo trims off grape clusters to leave only 3 per vine to provide the concentrated flavor and taste for this unique and expressive medium-body red that pairs perfectly with lamb\, mushrooms\, pecorino cheese\, grilled sausages. Each bottle is numbered\, one of the only 3\,500 bottles made.\n\n \n\n\n	\n	Cristina Doria and Marco Doria\, brother and sister team\, are the dynamic co-owners of Doria Wines\, importers of exclusively microwinery wines. They focus only on vineyards in Italy that are microwineries with very limited production native grapes only\, all family owned and produced\, and are new to the US market. Marco and Cristina are from Torino\, Italy\, though Cristina lives in Maryland now. \n\n	Which wine will you like best? Let us know!\n	\n\n\n \n\n****************\n\n$88 all-inclusive of wine\, food\, food pairing recipes & tax per person\n\nLimited Seats available - reserve today!\n\n****************\n\n \n\nAll Wines and foods are available for sale with a special 15% discount after the event while the inventory is available on these very limited quantity wines. \n\nPlease call Bobbi 610-209-5409 with any questions\, Cin Cin!\n\n \n\nThank you for joining us and for your support of our love of "All Things Italian"
