SUMMARY:Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum - Summer Camps
DESCRIPTION:Beginning June 25 and continuing through Aug. 17\, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels\, Md.\, is offering its week-long\, half- and full-day summer camps. In age-appropriate Chesapeake-themed sessions for ages 4-15\, campers will explore the magic of the Chesapeake Bay's people\, animals\, and environment\, with an emphasis on creating a fun\, hands-on learning environment that includes on-the-water and environmental activities\, stories\, games\, crafts\, and other creative projects.\n\n \n\nCBMM's summer camps for children 4-6 years old are offered during the weeks of June 25\, July 2\, July 9\, July 23\, July 30\, and Aug. 6. Camps for children entering grades one-three are offered the weeks of July 2\, July 16\, July 30\, and Aug. 13. Camps for children entering grades four-six are offered the weeks of July 16\, Aug. 6\, and Aug. 13. \n\n \n\nAdditionally\, two weeks of camp are being offered for students through a collaboration between CBMM's Rising Tide Program and the Sultana Education Foundation. During the weeks of July 9 (for grades six-nine) and Aug. 6 (for grades four-six)\, campers in the Build it. Boat it. Summer Camp will spend part of their day working on a project in the shipyard\, and then head out on a paddling adventure with Sultana staff members.\n\n \n\nCamps take place from 9am-noon for children ages 4-6\, and 9am-3pm for those entering grades one-nine\, with campers exploring CBMM's 18-acre campus and numerous exhibition buildings as part of the program. \n\n \n\nEach session is limited to a maximum of 12 children\; summer camp cost varies for each program\, with scholarships available and a 20 percent discount on tuition for CBMM members.
